The College & Career Prep Fellowship comprises of IslandHer Fellows, high school students who identify as female and Pacific Islander, or as female and are current permanent residents of the Pacific Islands. IslandHer Fellows are selected through an application process for their demonstrated commitment to our mission and their strong desire to shape their future.

The College & Career Prep Fellowship aims to educate, prepare, and inspire rising female Pacific Islanders, enabling them to pursue an undergraduate education as their first step to achieving their desired career. The program is designed to foster accountability, helping students stand out as strong candidates during the college application process, and ensure they feel confident with the support of our IslandHer community as they transition from high school to college.

Pacific Islander women are among the marginalized groups in the United States and IslandHer Rising acknowledges the cycles of systemic inequality they face. By supporting their educational pursuits, we can enhance their economic mobility, increase their representation in influential roles, and promote equity within both academic and professional spheres. This empowerment not only benefits individuals but also contributes to building more inclusive and resilient communities.

Applications Open on August 5 and close on September 9 for the 2024 Application Cycle. The College & Career Prep Fellowship begins in October and continues until May. Fellows remain enrolled from their acceptance into the program until their high school graduation.
